Aquaculture
The “Aquaculture and fish products processing” division is located in GUS16 and GUS02 buildings in the upper Park of Royal Palace in Portici. The aims of the division is to build innovation in the fish sector through the development of farming techniques for molluscs, fish, algae and microalgae in the marine and the freshwater environments.
In addition to the support laboratories, the section is equipped with: plants for the breeding of marine and freshwater organisms; raceway tanks and photobioreactors for the microalgae cultivation; an innovative aquaponics plant and a seafood processing room for transformation and conservation of innovative products, semi-finished products and bioactive principles for the GDO, the Ho.Re.Ca., the cosmetic and pharmaceutical markets.
